One of the things that helped me the most as a new mama was making lists. I would write a list for almost anything! To-do lists, grocery lists, lists of ideas, reminders, groceries, etc. You get the point.
As time goes on, sometimes making lists is the only thing that keeps me feeling sane and balanced. Before the start of a new week, I like to write down goals for Mariam, the house, my family, and me. Whether this means I’d like to do a new sensory activity with Mariam on Thursday, or I want to finish laundry by Friday, it’s all there in front of me. You name it, I probably write it down. This also gives me the feeling of productivity and gives me a place of purpose in society (okay, maybe that’s an over-exaggeration).
My advice to all moms out there: keep your ideas and to dos in front of you somewhere where you can see them. Feeling overwhelmed is normal, but it helps a lot to keep your week in check. You’ll feel less scattered. Research also shows that it feels good to cross out things on your to-do list!
Here is a free all-in-one printable that I created for all the parents out there (yes, dads too!). I want you to benefit from planning your week as much as I have! Laminate it, hang in on your fridge, or keep it on your desk. Wherever you have it, make it work for you.
To help make sense of how this works, here’s an example of what a week in my life looks like:
As you can see, I can add more to my plans throughout the week as I remember things or as ideas come to my mind. I hope you benefit from having this! Please leave your comments below letting me know if you found it helpful!
